To Blog or Not to Blog: That is the Question

Blogging: how far I've come into understanding it! I'm actually proud of myself for learning how to use it. This semester, I was looking forward into blogging because I learned a lot about it last semester and I wanted to keep doing it. This semester was a little tricky, though.

Even though I found it easier to create than the first time, I found it a bit frustrating thinking about what to post because I had many ideas but I didn’t know if they would work. At first it was like I was posting about the same material and yet I found a creative way to have it all related in different ways. I also faced difficulty when arranging the photos in the post about the Ten Facts of the 60’s: they would arrange themselves beneath the other photos or they would change the way I had composed the post, but I finally figured it out. Another post I had trouble with was the one about the poem because I couldn’t write the stanzas so I had to write them in another format to later change them back to stanzas.

Generally, I liked creating the blog but what I enjoyed the most was the way I arranged the photos in my posts and the background of my blog because they add personality and, even if they are Internet photos, they feel like me. I really liked putting my work “out there”: people see what I can create, maybe it inspires them too. I also liked that I was able to get better at using the blog since I'm not good at technology, preferring paper and pen to computer but one must adjust to all the technological advances in the world.

I find it hard to express my opinions on social media due to differences but with the blog I think it’s easier to express yourself. When you blog, it's like you offer your views in a more personal way that in Facebook for example. I see blogging as a therapeutic activity due to all the arrangement of photos, links or others to “accessorize” the blog, choosing the templates that best suit you, and figuring out what will the post be about. So to answer the question: yes to blogs.

10 Facts of the 1960's

As we studied The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman, I read the novel imagining how life at that moment was like. I've seen a few movies and read about this period of time but there are things that caught my curiosity. I decided to make a ten list with facts of the events during the decade of the 60's in the whole world that I discovered about science, politics, fashion and more.

http://www.thepeoplehistory.com/1960s.html (What Happened in the 1960's)- The next ten facts were part of the article in this link. I must say that there were many interesting facts like how the miniskirt first appeared in London, the first Wal-Mart, and the first issue of The Rolling Stones magazine.
